Software AG Launches ARIS 10 for Enabling Digital Growth
Software AG influence in the business management world has been well-documented. During the late 1980s, when organizations were coming to terms with the emergence of software and technologies, Software AG led the renaissance with ARIS. ARIS is now the world’s leading tool for managing and analyzing business processes. In the current digital economy, ARIS has helped changed the attitude of business towards the adoption of digital technologies. ARIS will be celebrating its 25th birthday at Software AG’s booth at CeBIT 2017.
Software AG is using this occasion to launch the latest version of ARIS, ARIS 10. ARIS 10 has been described as an innovative platform that will broaden the scope of digital transformation for organizations worldwide. Under the motto “Manage your digital future,” Dr. Wolfram Jost, CTO of Software AG and one of the founding fathers of ARIS, underlined the key features of the newest version: visual, smart analysis of KPIs (with our new product, ARIS Aware), planning for IoT scenarios, customer experience management, support for the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and much more. The new release will be made available to users by mid-April.
Dr. Jost said, “ARIS is a key management instrument for every company that wants to succeed in its digital transformation. It transfers the digital business strategy into the company’s operational processes, integrates them into the customer journey, and creates transparency about the transformation’s success by continually monitoring and analyzing performance and risk indicators. ARIS improves communication and supports collaboration between departments and locations. It supports our customers in achieving their optimal software implementations based on departmental requirements.”
Annette Kirchner, from the “Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt”, explaines why the industry has been keenly awaiting the new, improved version of ARIS, “Business process management means knowing, developing and controlling your own processes. Documented and transparent processes are essential to the economy as well as the public administration, especially in the course of advancing digitization. Sustainable solutions for digital transformation can only be developed and operated on the basis of robust and optimized processes. ARIS has been providing the tools and methods for recording and managing processes quickly and with high quality for 25 years.”
In December 2016, ARIS was awarded a gold seal in a BARC study on process modeling tools. According to BARC, “ARIS has fully met the necessary application support criteria for model management, standard notation, method refinement, collaboration and model analysis.”

New or innovative technologies take time to go mainstream, people and companies are cautious (or sometimes shortsighted), and could be slow to see the value in changing from a system that has worked for them for years. One notable example is the radio. An early investor is reported to have completely dismissed the concept of broadcast media with the words, “The wireless music box has no imaginable commercial value. Who would pay for a message sent to no one in particular?”
Five Questions for Your Prospective RPA PartnerBy Rosie Lemanek, VP - Finance & Accounting, Sutherland Global Services
Sutherland Global Services is a provider of business process and technology management services. The company was founded in 1986 with its headquarter based in New York.
There’s a growing agreement that Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is more than just the latest tech buzzword; it’s an emerging automation technology that comes with the promise of significant cost savings, performance improvements and data quality benefits.
The advantages of RPA over traditional automation are clear. The RPA systems mimic human behavior with no change to the existing technology infrastructure, and are technology agnostic, so it works across legacy ERPs and mainframes. In terms of deployment, RPA can be rolled out in days and weeks as opposed to months and years.
Most businesses became familiar with SaaS (Software as a Service) within the last 15 years via Salesforce CRM software, Office 365 or Google apps. However the initial willingness of people and companies to embrace SaaS was slow and filled with doubt.“What’s the cloud?” “Is it safe?” “Am I putting my company at risk for fraud?”
